Turmeric Golden Syrup
Ginger and turmeric both come from the Ginger family and are wonderful herbs for helping with pain, especially that cold, stuck, damp in the joints, hate to get up arthritic type of pain. Both are anti-inflammatory circulatory stimulants that help move the blood, get the juices flowing and help reduce inflammation in the body that is causing pain. To make this fantastic syrup you will need
1 ounce ginger (about 10 slim slices)
1 ounce fresh turmeric (grated into about 1/2 cup)
A pinch of black pepper (1/8th teaspoon)
Honey (about 6 ounces)
First slice and grate your ginger and turmeric and throw it in a pot with the black pepper. Add a full 16 ounces of water. Bring to a boil and then let simmer for 20 minutes. Then strain out and really squeeze out the remaining herb to get all of the decoction out. You should get about 8-10 ounces of extraction at that point. Then let cool for a short while and add 6 ounces of honey. Add to a jar and cap it and keep in the refrigerator. Take two tablespoons (1 ounce) daily until done. Should last about two weeks.
